Museum Collections

As part of my graduate research, I work with malacological collections by databasing and imaging shells, making them more accessible to researchers. I think natural history collections are invaluable research tools and vastly underutilized. Mussel shells specifically provide a great source for understanding temporal and spatial variation in organisms and the environment.

Bringing the work done behind the scenes closer to the public is a good way to integrate museum collections and museum exhibits and showcase the important work done by curators.

As part of my graduate training, I also obtained a museum studies certificate
